Joint Activities & Motor Education Service

Motor Vehicle & Vocational

Working with 12 to 19 year olds struggling in mainstream education or young people who would benefit from workshop experience.

Young people can attend for 1 to 3 days per week. On the programme they gain experience in motor vehicle skills as well as working on personal and social development. Young people engaged will work on the highly valued IMI qualification at either Entry Level,  Level 1 or Level 2 dependent on ability. Those engaged will also have access to Functional Skills, supporting the attainment and improvement of literacy and numeracy qualifications, to be utilised for further education, employment or training progression. English, maths and ICT are also embedded within all vocational learning at JAMES.   This is a perfect tool to engage young people who prefer a hands on style of learning.

We also have pushbike sessions with young people where they can fix bikes and learn skills of how to keep them road worthy and safe.

Places are charged to school or the referral agency.
